Etymotic MC series earphones

Headphone specialist Etymotic Research has announced a new range of midrange earphones with the MC series.

The company claims that its ACCU (Acoustic Control Chamber) technology makes the MC series “the world’s most accurate-sounding noise-isolating earphone series in its price bracket”. The ACCU technology modifies standard dynamic earphone drivers to provide the kind of audio accuracy usually found in more expensive earphones. In addition, the MC-Series earphones are designed to be more comfortable for extended wear, with a high degree of noise isolation to enable lower volume listening.

The Acoustic Control Chamber acts like a three-band equaliser with a resonant control gate, an acoustic side branch and two acoustic dampers that smooth out the sound and help to improve on the high-frequency response of standard dynamic drivers.

Mark Karnes, managing director of consumer products at Etymotic, said: “Our new MC-Series lets users enjoy an unparalleled listening experience at an unbeatable price. These products are without doubt the best-sounding, most accurate, most durable and most comfortable sub-£80 earphones and headsets on the market. Your ears will think you spent a fortune, but your wallet will know the truth.”

The Etymotic MC series is available now in four colours, and including a carrying pouch, for £55 (MC-5) and £70 (MC-3).
