July 20, 2010 — Article

Crestron has announced its DM-TX-200-2G wall plate transmitter, which promises convenient connectivity for Blu-ray players, TVs, computers and laptops.

The DM-TX-200-2G can be wall or floor-mounted and enables switching between one HDMI and one RGB input. The HDMI input supports HDMI with HDCP; WUXGA computer resolutions, and 1080p60 HDTV with multi-channel lossless audio. All signals are digitally transmitted up to 135 metres over DigitalMedia (DM) cable. As well as HDMI there are inputs for USB, 3.5mm analogue audio jack and PC port.

A USB HID device port allows a mouse/keyboard to control a computer or other host device in another part of the room or a central equipment rack with DM cabling providing a seamless upgrade path from analogue to digital without the need to replace installed equipment.

Robin van Meeuwen, Managing Director at Crestron UK, said: “DM wall plates give you remote input connectivity for virtually any AV source. They are the perfect solution for integrating digital and analogue sources via a single cable.”
