Arcam claims the FMJ AVR400 is its “most affordable high-definition AV receiver yet” and it will make its UK debut at the Bristol Sound & Vision Show later this month (25th-27th February).

The 3D-compatible machine features 7.1 channels, 7 x 90 watts of power, HDMI 1.4 connectivity with Audio Return Channel and decoding of all the latest high-definition audio codecs as well as a DAB/FM/AM tuner.

It’s network linked allowing it to stream audio from your PC or NAS drive via your home network or material stored on a USB device. It’s fitted with a Torino video processor which can support 1080p/60 and 24fps (frames per second).

It also has RS232, IR and 12V control interfaces for custom installation.

Not quite qualifying as a ‘budget’ model, it comes in behind the company’s AVR600 and AVR500 models (£3,500 and £2,500 respectively) at a more affordable £1,700 and will go on sale in February in silver or black.
