Bristol Show 2011: Cyrus streaming players

Brit hi-fi specialist Cyrus will be showing off its new hi-fi streaming players at the Bristol Show, including an all-in-one streaming system.

Cyrus Streamline

The Cyrus Streamline all-in-one system consists of a 30-watts-per-channel integrated amplifier with a new preamp, USB and iPod connectivity. With five external inputs for connecting various digital devices, all you need for a complete system is to add a pair of speakers.

It’s based on Cyrus’s new high-end streaming model, the Stream XP, and can transmit files stored in your iTunes library around the home.

For the best sound quality, Cyrus recommends ripping CDs as uncompressed files.

The Streamline sits in the middle of Cyrus’s three-strong streaming audio range. The Stream XP (£2,000) is the flagship model and will form the future core of a new Cyrus high performance system.

The Stream X (£1,400) uses the same core platform but without the XP’s preamp. Cyrus says it’s designed to offer a streaming source component for customers who already have an amplifier with a built-in DAC such as the Cyrus 8 XPd or DAC XP+.

Cyrus managing director Peter Bartlett, said: “Now we have our new streaming solution, we can amortise the development costs across several models and afford to include a really nice internal stereo amplifier good enough to be matched with very high quality speakers.”

Each of the models includes Cyrus’s n-remote control system, which the company claims makes it easy to find your way around your music collection. It includes a colour screen and an IR learning facility for control of other devices such as TVs.

The Cyrus Streamline will be on sale from March for £1,600.
