Sony’s Qriocity Music Unlimited app for Android

June 22, 2011 — Article

Sony has launched a new Android app for its Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity service.

The free app gives access to the full (7 million+) Qriocity music catalogue and streaming service which allows you to sync your own music library to the cloud.

You can already get Qriocity via internet-enabled Bravia TVs, Blu-ray players, the PlayStation 3 and computers, and the app now adds mobile devices to the list.

Like Apple’s iTunes Match service, Qriocity is able to scan your music collection and match your tunes to the ones in the cloud, so there’s no need to upload your tracks.

While the app is free to download you’ll need a subscription to Qriocity’s Basic or Premium service to use it. It works with Android versions 2.1 – 2.3.3.
