Cambridge Audio has unveiled a follow-up to its DacMagic DAC, the DacMagic 100.

Cambridge Audio DacMagic 100

Selling for £30 less than the original at £200, the new version comes with a Wolfson WM8742 24-bit DAC and Cambridge Audio’s latest USB audio input which allows uncompressed 24-bit/192kHz files to be played back from any PC or Apple computer.

The DacMagic 100’s audio processing is designed to improve the sound of all sorts of products, including TVs and media streamers as well as DVD, CD and Blu-ray players.

It has three types of digital inputs in all – one optical, two coaxial, plus the USB, and a pair of analogue RCA phono outputs. It’s been designed to partner with a range of iPad/iPhone docks including Cambridge Audio’s own iD100.

The Cambridge Audio DacMagic 100 should be available in black or silver for £200 from next month.
