Cambridge-based hi-fi pioneer Arcam’s new all-digital audio and video docking station, the drDock for Apple portables, feeds audio and video into TV, hi-fi or home cinema system.

The drDock replaces Arcam‘s irDock and promises greater connectivity options with wider compatibility and improved sound through direct digital connections to the dock.

Arcam says the drDock uses audiophile-grade components and high-end DACs to deliver the best possible sound. The high-quality cast aluminium enclosure and enhanced RF suppression techniques further improve audio quality.

An HDMI digital video output allows playback of favourite films and TV programmes directly to any modern flatscreen TV or via an AV receiver. The drDock comes with its own IR remote handset but can also be controlled by the Arcam Solo Neo and Solo mini music systems, plus many Arcam AV amps and the T32 DAB Tuner via their handsets. The drDock’s USB connection also allows both syncing and charging of your device while connected to a PC or Mac.

Supplied with a full complement of connection cables (except HDMI) and accessories, the drDock is designed to be ready for action within minutes of unpackaging.

The Arcam drDock is available now for £200.
