From its headquarters in Oregon, USA, Planar Systems Inc has released the Planar UltraLux Series – a family of 60in, 70in and 80in LCD displays aimed at meeting the growing demand for large format displays in retail, airports and other digital signage environments.

The Planar UltraLux Series, mirroring the style and aesthetics of today’s most popular consumer electronics, is available in wall-mount or freestanding, single or double-sided, display models. The zero-bezel, all-glass design extends to the edge of the display, akin to that of cutting-edge smart phone and tablet design.

The Planar UltraLux Series features a variety of options for tailoring the display to the environment. The ultra-thin wall-mounted version has a profile of less than 3in. The free-standing displays feature the same modern and elegant industrial styling that allows them to blend into any public environment.

The built-in UltraLux Mounting System allows for simplified installations with no additional hardware required, incorporating a kickstand feature that tilts the display away from the wall lending easy access to the electronics. With no need to remove the display for servicing the UltraLux displays should cut costs and reduce service time by up to 70 per cent according to Planar.

Planar UltraLux displays include a full serial and network command set for automated notification and control and also support SNMP for integration with enterprise management systems. A six-point multi-touch option for interactive applications is also available.

Incorporating advanced durability features and improvements in viewing ability in bright ambient environments, all Planar UltraLux displays are available with white or black edge trim options.
