November 14, 2013 — Article

The recently launched Optoma HD91 with a matte-black design is the first LED home theatre projector in the brand’s extensive product range. It features enhanced image quality using the Optoma LED technology and offers a full 3D 1080p image which is ultra-smooth with PureMotion4 frame-interpolation processing. It includes video adjustment options with the Advanced Colour Management System CMS+ as well as including lens shift and a wide zoom range for easy installation, enabling pictures up to 3,80 meters diagonal.

Powered by 3 x LEDs, the HD91 delivers enhanced image quality thanks to the Optoma LED Technology using separate red, blue and green LEDs which produces a wide colour gamut, deep colour saturation and outstanding brightness for vivid, intense yet accurate colours. Advanced switching of these LEDs provides increased image stability that rivals the performance of 3-chip DLP projectors. The LED illumination in the Optoma HD91 provides consistent brightness and colour performance. In addition, Dynamic Black technology dynamically adjusts the lamp output automatically, based on the brightness information of each frame, to create an impressive 500,000:1 contrast ratio, for deeper blacks in dark scenes.

The HD91 incorporates the fourth generation of Optoma’s frame-interpolation processing called PureMotion4 , with now a superior performance level by utilising ultra-fast LED switching times for smooth performance in both 2D and 3D. In its lowest setting, PureMotion4 retains the natural film quality while maximising the detail of every frame. In the highest setting, motion blur and image judder is virtually eliminated which is great for high-speed action sequences as well as 3D modes, where fluidity is essential.

The Optoma HD91 comes equipped with Advanced Colour Management System CMS+ offering the possibility to choose between 5 pre-set colour gamuts (Native, Adobe, DLP-C, HDTV and SMPTE-C), 6 colour temperatures (D50, D65, D83, D93 and Native) or alternatively, fine tune intensity and x/y co-ordinates of primary and secondary colours for ultimate calibration precision.

Optoma HD91 Extensive options for easy installation

The efficiency of the LED powered Optoma HD91 produces less heat so less cooling is required resulting in near silent operation with only 23dB in eco mode. In addition, its light weight (7kg) and compact design when combined with the Lens Shift and a wide 1.9x zoom range options allows the projector vastly improved installation flexibility.

Using the inherent speed of DLP technology from Texas Instruments, which uses millions of tiny mirrors to maximise the available light output and high contrast, the Optoma HD91 Full 3D projector with two HDMI 1.4a inputs can display true 3D content from almost any 3D display device, including 3D Blu-ray, PS3, Xbox and Sky3D. In addition, the Optoma HD91 will let you fully enjoy 3D gaming experience.

“The new HD91 with matte-black design is the first LED home cinema projector from Optoma. It brings big screen Full HD LED cinema into the home and delivers a truly spectacular experience for film fanatics.” said Justin Halls, Head of Product Management at Optoma EMEA.
