The design work for the Curvi Model 1 Version 2 began four years ago; the brief was to produce a loudspeaker that makes a sculptural and aurally realistic statement within a domestic living space. Realising the ground breaking appearance and acoustic design, Dr Christopher Liauw, Founder of Curvi-HiFi, registered the design with the UK Patent office in 2005.

The Curvi Model 1 Version 2 is the product of a fresh look at loudspeaker design that aims to marry state of the art sound quality with stunning aesthetics inspired by natural forms. Additional inspiration for the design arose from increasing disappointment with multi-driver loudspeakers that tend to reproduce sound in a soulless manner, rather than convey the true emotion and sense of occasion of a live musical event. The curved organic – near human – form of the speaker combines with intelligent use of materials and the precision full-range drive unit to give a uniquely realistic listening experience.
