Highlights

Previously seen at IFA in Germany, Sony’s first 3D projector the new VPL-VW90ES makes its debut in the UK and has been wowing the crowds with a well set up and presented demonstration by Sony’s Eric Kingdom.

It uses on the active glasses technology used in Sony’s 3D TV range and the physical size of the image delivers a 3D experience that feels natural on the eyes.

It is 3D in Full HD 1080p and has a new SXRD panel with smaller spacing between the
cells and increased frame rate of 240Hz which minimizes image distortion and crosstalk. The projector can also convert a 2D signal and simulate 3D images.

As with all 3D devices the glasses eat light so the projector brightness and contrast has been increased whilst maintaining an excellent depth of colour using Sony’s Advanced Iris 3 technology that enables a dynamic contrast ratio of 150,000:1.

With an incredibly low fan noise of just 22db and a simple set up that suits a wide range of installation configurations the VPL-VW90ES opens up another dimension to your home cinema and the gaming sector with crystal clear images and excellent contrast. It is without doubt a superb 2D projector that also happens to be a knockout when used in 3D mode!
