Quad ESL speakers are truly innovative, learn why (What Hifi Stuff Show 2006)

December 01, 2006

Highlights

Dave Patching, International Sales Manager for the International Audio Group, tells us what makes the Quad ESL so special. We get to see inside and look at one of the 6 panels that make up each speaker. Two positively charged coiled electrodes sandwich a mylar film which remains negatively charged. Fluctuating voltages up to 5000V make the mylar film vibrate and produce sound. And no ordinary sound either as the new ESL is widely considered to be the finest speaker on the planet. But you need to go and listen to them and judge them for yourself. Yours for £6,000.
