Speaker installation expert Genelec has supplied the speakers for a major audio installation at Bagna Cauda, a brasserie within auctioneer Sotheby’s Amsterdam branch.

Local audio dealer Knokki Audio Technologies installed Genelec’s compact but powerful 8030A speakers in white, which blended well with the chic interior design scheme of the restaurant.

“We’re absolutely delighted with the Genelec speakers,” said Sarriel Taus, the owner of Bagna Cauda. “Both the sound quality and the design of the speakers fits perfectly into the interior of the restaurant. We are open for breakfast, lunch, business drinks and dinner, catering from 25 to up to 250 people. The speaker system is versatile enough to respond to each of these scenarios with great results.”

The 8030A is a bi-amplified nearfield speaker that features Genelec’s MDE (Minimum Diffraction Enclosure) enclosure with rounded edges and a gently curved front and sides to help achieve a smooth frequency response.

Like Genelec’s other 8000 Series monitors, the 8030A also features the Genelec Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) a flow-optimized reflex port design, optimized die-cast aluminium structure with acoustically optimized metal grilles. Low distortion drivers are driven by dedicated amplifiers after sophisticated filtering. Magnetic shielding, overload protection circuitry and versatile room response controls are standard. The versatile mounting features include integrated rear support points for wall and floor stands plus a further 3/8in thread for mounting on the cabinet base.

Every Genelec 8030A monitor comes with an Iso-Pod (Isolation Positioner/Decoupler) mounting stand which allows it to aligned either vertically or horizontally.

Genelec has also recently launched the 4030A – a product that matches the acoustic performance of the 8030A but with additional features for the installation market. Phoenix strip connectors make for easy on-site installation. The product also has a remote power on/off trigger, and with no controls on the front panel, tampering is eliminated.
