Optoma PK301 Pico projector

July 05, 2010 — Article

Optoma has launched what it claims is the brightest projector in its palm-sized Pico range, the PK301.

The diminutive device includes a built-in media player and microSD slot (up to 32GB) for presentations from PowerPoint or photo slide shows for watching movies and video clips.

Measuring just 120 x 70 × 30mm and weighing 250g, it’s still capable of projecting a 120in image using either the mains or its own rechargeable battery.

As well as the memory card slot, the PK301 also includes mini HDMI, VGA and USB connections complete with cables for other sources.

It can deliver WVGA resolution of 854 x 480 pixels and promises a contrast ratio of 2000:1. There’s a 0.5W speaker on board as well as an audio out socket and it can play for 1.5 hours on a standard battery or up to five hours on an optional high-capacity battery.

Optoma Product Manager, Richard Stamper said: “The Optoma Pico PK301 is probably the most impressive Pico projector on the market today. With impressive resolution and brightness the PK301 is an essential business tool, brilliantly handling and projecting highly professional looking PowerPoint slides, photo and video files.”

The Optoma PK301 is available now for £349.
