Sanyo’s latest high-end projector is the PLV-HF10000L, which comes with a native 2K resolution of 2048 x 1080.

The brand, which now comes under the Panasonic umbrella, is aiming the projector primarily at the professional market and it’s designed for large rooms. It offers 3000:1 contrast and the QuaDrive Optical engine for accurate colour reproduction and a claimed 20 per cent increase in the projector’s colour palette.

Sanyo says: “Integrated QuaDrive technology provides outstanding colour reproduction. This unique technology uses a fourth panel – the Colour Control Device (CCD) – to separately control yellow light within the optical engine. The result is increased colour purity, more realistic colour reproduction and an increase in image brightness.”

Several projectors can also be connected to create one extra-large image with an edge-blending function. Each projector is allocated one image section and the brightness at the borders of each are specially calculated so they blend into one another.

The Sanyo PLV-HF10000L will be available in the UK from November 2010, though the price is yet to be announced.

Sanyo also has two other projectors on the way with the PLC-XD2200 and PLC-XD2600. They’re 2200 ANSI lumens and 2600 ANSI lumens respectively, and both have XGA resolution with dual data inputs and a lamp life of up to 6,000 hours. Both are available now for £622 and £798 excluding VAT.
