Designed to offer “class leading performance at a budget price point”, the range has been designed to get the best from entry level stereo and multi-channel amplifiers, according to Tannoy.

The new range includes technology sourced from the Mercury F Custom range, with every component having been revised and upgraded and can be used as either a stereo pair or in surround home cinema mode.

The range consists of the Mercury V1 stand mount (pictured), the V4 floorstander, the Mercury VC centre channel speaker and the compact wall mount Mercury VR satellite.

Key upgrades from the Mercury F Custom range include slightly larger cabinets with revised bracing for deeper and more accurate bass response and a new ultra light pulp fibre mid/bass cone which promises faster LF dynamic attack. Tannoy claims the Mercury’s new soft-dome tweeter is engineered to tolerances found on more costly designs.

The Tannoy Mercury range is available now in either sugar maple or dark walnut veneers at these prices:

Mercury V1 £150
Mercury V4 £380
Mercury VR £140
Mercury VC £130 each
