Monster has announced a new set of headphones to tie in with the release of futuristic blockbuster TRON: LEGACY.

Following its Dr Dre and Lady Gaga collaborations, the special-edition headphones are sponsored by faceless French electronica duo Daft Punk, who composed the soundtrack to TRON: LEGACY.

The styling is inspired by the pair’s retro-futuristic robot costumes and features a blend of metal and plastic with LED lighting effects similar to those employed in the film.

Designed with gamers and home cinema viewers in mind, the over-ear headphone cups are oversized to help deliver extra bass and there’s a removable boom microphone for interactive gaming.

There’s noise isolation technology on board to block out ambient noise and Monster’s ControlTalk in-line controls so you can use them to take a call on your mobile phone.

The special-edition headphones come with a special surround-sound mix of the Daft Punk-engineered soundtrack and they’re available now for £250.
