January 07, 2011 — Article

Optoma has released a projector that’s also an iPod dock.

Optoma Neo-i

The Neo-i is a mini-DLP projector that can display video and still images on virtually any flat surface. It also has a built-in 16-watt stereo speaker system and has inputs for connecting to external sources.

It has an LED light source and a 50 ANSI lumen Pico projector, which can blow up a 16:9, 854 x 480-pixel WVGA image to 120 inches. Inputs available for other devices include HDMI and VGA options.

There’s an optional battery pack so you can use it pretty much anywhere and its bulb life is rated at 22,000 hours.

That iPod/iPhone dock is mounted on top and charges your device while it plays.

The Optoma’s Neo-i is on sale in the US now for $449.
