German speaker manufacturer, Quadral has announced a special 30th anniversary edition of its flagship hi-fi speaker, the Titan.

Quadral Aurum Titan VIII

The £11,300 a pair Titan VIII celebrates three decades of continuous production of the company’s high-end, hand-built Aurum range. The eighth generation of a model that first appeared in 1981, it’s available in over 190 colours and will come with a ten-year warranty and a slight price drop from the previous version.

The newly developed front-radiating double bass system features twin 25cm long-throw woofers feature with refined Altima membranes (made from Quadral’s own alloy – aluminum, titanium, magnesium – AL TI MA), and there’s a newly developed chassis drive which is intended to be free from losses or asymmetries in the magnetic field. There’s also a new ribbon tweeter with “an extremely strong drive at minimum mass” to get the most out of the high end.

Paul Heath, MD for Quadral GB & Ireland said: “This year at Quadral is an exciting one with lots more to come in addition to the new Titan VIII which itself takes on a whole new look, and I’ve been fortunate to hear it too – it’s frankly an awesome piece of engineering. Making the best even better is a hard task, but the engineering team in Germany continue to impress.”

The speaker will make its world debut at the High-End Society show, Munich, Germany from the 20-22 May, and will be available in the UK from June.
