Pure Lounge relaunches with music store

June 01, 2011 — Article

British DAB radio specialist Pure has relaunched its Lounge media portal with a new look, improved functionality and an online music store.

Version 2.0 of the Lounge offers just under 200,000 different pieces of audio content, including thousands of internet radio stations, podcasts and on-demand content from the BBC and others.

Pure says the site’s search functionality has been improved to make finding the content you want that bit easier.

And for the first time, you can now buy tracks on the Lounge, too. The service echoes Pure’s cloud-based FlowSongs, available on some of its more recent radios, which allows you to tag and buy tracks. Now anyone can access that functionality via the Pure Lounge.

Playlists can be managed both on the radio and via the portal, and tracks can also be downloaded to a multimedia player.

The new-look Lounge also incorporates social media, allowing you to share favourite stations or on-demand content via Twitter or Facebook, as well as editorial features.

The Lounge is also available via a dedicated iPhone app.
