Yamaha Aventage receivers

Yamaha has revealed its new Aventage range of home cinema receivers.

Yamaha RXA3010

The four-strong range replaces the higher-end models from last year and use all-new designs and components, rather than updating the original designs.

Top of the range is the RXA3010 (£1,999), followed by the RXA2010 (£1,499), RXA1010 (£999) and RXA810 (£849).

The two higher-priced models offer nine audio channels, while the other two have seven. All have eight HDMI inputs and two HDMI outputs, and a ‘one-touch’ control on their remotes for operatingf Samsung, Panasonic and Toshiba TVs.

They’re all 3D and network capable and come with a new circuit design, new power transformer, new heat sink and upgraded components.

However, none of them include Spotify or AirPlay as has been the case with some 2011 rivals from Onkyo, Pioneer and Denon. However, Yamaha says it will continue to offer its own YIDW10 AirWired transmitter for iPhone/iPad/iPod at £100-£120.

The three lower-priced models come with Yamaha’s own YPAO and CinemaDSP 3D technology while the flagship model benefits from the new, improved CinemaDSP HD3.

Yamaha says that a fifth foot in the middle of the base helps to reduce vibration from the power transistor and heat sink. The RXA3010 also gets new heavy duty legs and a ‘double bottom’ cover similar to the Yamaha DSP-Z11.

All four Aventage receivers will be available in September.
