August 02, 2011 — Article

Klipsch has released a new range of slimline surround speakers designed for use with modern flatscreen TVs.

Klipsch Gallery G-42

The company’s Gallery series includes four free-standing or wall-mountable passive designs which can be bought on their own, or as part of a home cinema package.

The largest is the Klipsch Gallery G-42 (£629), a left/centre/rear channel soundbar that can be used with any standard multichannel receiver. It measures 42in, hence the name.

Further down the scale are the Gallery G-28 (£449), the G-16 (£269) and G-12 (£179), all of which can be configured as left, centre or surround speakers and are supplied with dark glass pedestals.

All the models include titanium diaphragm compression tweeters, Tractrix horns, long-throw IMG (injection moulded graphite) woofers. They also come with magnetic frameless grilles and a gloss black finish.

When supplied as full 5.1 package, they’re available in these combinations:

Home cinema pack 1: four G-12s, one G-16, one SW-350 subwoofer (£1,264)

Home cinema pack 2: three G-16s, two G-12s, one SW-350 subwoofer (£1,444)

Home cinema pack 3: three G-28s, three G-16s, one SW-110 subwoofer (£2,433)
