With an ultra-thin depth of just 4mm and weighing only 7.5kg, LG says the EM9600 promises ‘a glimpse of the future of TV’ when it hits the shelves in the second half of 2012.

OLED technology promises more vivid and realistic colours, brighter picture and faster display speed than LCD or plasma and this version incorporates LG’s 4-Colour Pixels and Colour Refiner technologies.

world’s largest 3D Ultra Definition (UD) TV

3D Ultra Definition
Also on the way from LG is the world’s largest 3D Ultra Definition (UD) TV. The 84in UDTV will have a pixel-count of 3840 x 2160 and offer four times the resolution of existing Full HD TVs. 3D Depth Control allows users to personalise the viewing experience by controlling the 3D effect while 3D Sound Zooming provides users with 3D sound. It’s expected to appear in autumn this year.

3D looms large in LG’s product map, with over 60 per cent of the latest range of LG TVs expected to be 3D ready, and new TVs coming with at least four pairs of passive 3D glasses as standard.

CINEMA SCREEN Design
LG’s CINEMA 3D TV series showcases the new CINEMA SCREEN design with an ultra-thin bezel – just 1mm thick – and new display technology promising a more immersive viewing experience.

The 9.1 system includes wireless rear speakers and 1,100 watts of power.

LG also announced its new global partnership with Google to develop Google TV (due to launch in the UK in 2013).
More than 70 per cent of the new TVs will feature integrated Wi-Fi, and there’s also an improved ‘Magic Remote’ which includes a scroll-wheel for easier browsing as well as voice and gesture-recognition technology.
