Klipsch claims that the Image S4i Rugged range will provide comfortable, long-term wear in ‘rugged conditions’ such as rock climbing, running or dirt biking among other activities, even resisting moisture to ensure full functionality in any conditions. The patented oval ear tips boast a natural fit in the contours of the ear canal, avoiding the usual pressure points.

The company also promises that the superior noise isolation blocks out almost all ambient noise and provides excellent bass via its 8.5mm dual magnet micro-speaker which covers a wide frequency range for dynamic detail and highly realistic sound reproduction.

The Image S4i Rugged’s audio works with virtually any device that has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, though the mic and three-button remote favour selected Apple products, granting iPhone users seamless call and music control during use.

Included with the purchase are four different-sized oval ear tips, a protective carrying case, clothing clip and two-year warranty. The headphones have a frequency response of 10Hz-19khz, impedance of 18Ohms
 and sensitivity of 110db.

The Image S4i Rugged retails for £90 from August 2012.
