January 18, 2006 — Article

In addition to our Daily News and our extensive "traditional" Photo Report with over 1400 pictures of the event, we have made a total of 47 video clip films of the different stands to let you enjoy or re-live the CES this year.

You will be able to see all of the following : Akai, Advance Acoustic, Arcam, BenQ, Blu-ray Group, Boston Acoustics, Cabasse, Canon, Daewoo, Denon, Dynaudio, Epson, Erard, Halcro, Highland Audio, Norstone Design, Lumene, Hitachi, HP, Infocus, Intel, Jamo, JVC, KEF, Kiss Technologies, Klipsch, LG Electronics, Marantz , Mc Intosh, Meridian, Faroudja, Microsoft, Mission, AudioLab, Wharfedale, Monster Cable, Optoma, Panasonic, Philips, Pioneer, Samsung, Sanyo, Sharp, Sherwood, Sony, Tara Labs, Texas Instruments, Thiel, Thomson (RCA), THX, Toshiba and Yamaha.

We will be opening 3 to 4 new clips each day to assure you the optimum performance. Effectively, we have put in place just several weeks ago new servers in view of the development of our video clips CineWebTV! section on the site, however, the interest from you, our readers, in recent days is already way ahead of our expectations with about 3000 video clips currently being viewed daily !

Just as quick reminder, here are a few tips how to maximize your viewing pleasure of our video clips. The clips are encoded in 10 different formats to provide you with premier DVD quality image videos and CD quality audio on PC or MAC and be compatible with both Windows Media and Flash.

The clips have been encoded for Windows Media since we have launched this section; however we are now limiting to the Version 8 and 9. Depending on your bandwidth and configuration they may take a few seconds to start, which you can monitor in the bottom of the frame. BUT the big advantage is that once the preload is completed you will be able to watch them full screen in DVD quality by using the "Full Screen" link just under the clip frame.  We have even tested watching them on a "normal" TV screen ! If you want to watch a clip a second time, it will start immediately thanks to our technology.

When viewing the clips using Flash they will, in general, open almost instantly. This format has given us better results when you have Fire Fox or a MAC. Depending on you configuration you may even find that the 512 version gives equivalent quality results as the high definition one, so we suggest you test to see what is best for you on your machine.

If you encounter any problems we would like to know as we have done quite extensive testing with numerous configurations, but obviously cannot do them all ! To help us best solve you question, please give us some information about your configuration, your bandwidth, and your location (we have readers in about 200 countries...) and we will do our best for your viewing pleasure.

If you like the clips, we would also like to know as this will encourage us and our corporate clients to bring you even more !

If you are a professional interested in getting more information about the clips and understanding why we feel they are the optimal cost effective communications approach available anywhere, just contact our French or UK office.
