The popularity of CEDIA, (the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association) continues to grow in Switzerland following three successful events in the country in 2007.
Switzerland is part of the CEDIA Region 1 area which covers Europe, Russia, the Middle East, India and India and, since the launch, a number of companies have become CEDIA members. As part of CEDIA’s work in the country, a pre-Christmas dinner was held for interested companies and hosted by Raphael Oberholzer, a CEDIA Board member from Swiss-based ESP (Electronic Systems’ Professional) member, Smart Home SA and Bernhard Hüessy from CEDIA Trade Supplier member, Genesis-Technologies. The dinner was attended by 24 business people, all of whom were founders and/or CEOs of the companies and had a close relationship with custom installation.
“To put it in simple words, I believe the dinner was outstanding” states Bernhard. “Furthermore, CEDIA was the main topic of conversation for the evening which was very encouraging. We heard some good ideas from the attendees, many of whom are keen for us to arrange a get together of industry leaders to discuss and focus the market. We also received a number of requests for membership packs which is a great result.”
“Custom Installation is becoming incredibly popular across the world and we’re seeing a reflection of that trend with membership applications from companies coming from across the Region 1 area,” explains Wendy Griffiths, CEDIA’s Executive Director. “It’s a really positive step to have more companies outside of the UK choosing to join CEDIA. Through our international outreach programme we are able to encourage this interest and offer assistance and advice, as well as education, to these companies.”
As part of its programme to promote itself across the Region, CEDIA is a key Association sponsor, alongside InfoComm International, of the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) event, taking place from 29-31 January in Amsterdam this year. During the show, CEDIA has its own stand in order to promote the Association, as well as to provide help and education in many areas relating to the custom installation industry.
