Grado Launch Improved Version Of Its Flagship Model Headphones GS1000

May 26, 2009 — Article

Grado have announced the introduction of an improved version of its flagship model the GS1000.

The GS1000i, replaces the original GS1000, which enjoyed universal acclaim when it was introduced in 2006 and was declared by many audiophiles to be ‘the world’s best headphones’.

Grado is exclusively distributed in the UK by Armour Home. Tony Jones, their Category Manager responsible for Grado stated:

“To be honest, we have been completely surprised by this news. The GS1000 is such a remarkable headphone we didn’t think Grado would need to improve it for many years. With hindsight, we should have known better, because John Grado is a guy who always wants people to enjoy music at its very best. So once he and his team had worked out how they could make the GS1000 even better, there was no stopping them.”

The GS1000i earpieces are handcrafted from a new species of Mahogany using an intricate curing process which enables Grado to optimise their tonal quality. In addition the GS1000i benefits from new upgraded dynamic transducers and a new improved 8 conductor cable design.

The combination of the new wood, speaker driver and cable design results in improved control and stability of both the upper and lower registers of the audio spectrum, with both now offering better support for the new GS1000i’s unrivalled midrange. Like its predecessor, the new GS1000i boasts special ear cushions that create individual ‘listening rooms’ for each ear, delivering a larger soundstage and greater spatial experience for the listener.

The overall sound is pure Grado: astounding bass, full bodied vocals, excellent dynamics, an ultra smooth top end and, most important of all, truly unrivalled musicality.

The new Grado GS1000i has a recommended retail price of £1100.00 including VAT and is available now from authorised dealers throughout the UK.
