November 20, 2012 — Press release

At ISE 2013 on Stand 1-G90, Genelec will be introducing the G and F Series – a new range of home audio products that blend sustainable materials and energy saving features, with Genelec’s renowned professional quality performance.

The G and F Series’ signal Genelec’s entry into home audio market and incorporate the company’s green values and strong heritage in the professional audio world. The models feature Genelec´s new Power Management Technology to ensure they meet the coming ErP Energy Related Products (ERP) Directive* and furthermore, the speaker cabinets are manufactured from recycled aluminium so can be reused indefinitely, adding to the sustainable nature of the products.

“The G and F Series represent a new blueprint for home audio loudspeakers,” says Tomi Hassinen, International Sales Manager for Home Audio products at Genelec. “The professional quality performance alongside the recycled materials and our green manufacturing philosophy – add up to a future-proof package that is designed for broad appeal across the home audio and small installation sector. We are proud to be introducing them to the systems integration community at ISE 2013.”

The G Series represents the culmination of Genelecʼs long experience in loudspeaker design and development. Delivering a powerful sound experience with all the benefit of an active loudspeaker design, the G Series combine a compact aluminium enclosure with easy connectivity to sources such as home cinema amplifier, PC, portable music player or multi-room system. The F Series active subwoofers extend the bass response of the G Series loudspeakers with accurate, solid and dynamic bass.

G Series

There are four models in the G Series range – each designed to suit a listening environment whether small of large. All models encompass the same positive attributes: neutrality of sound, accuracy of the soundstage and unsurpassed Genelec reliability. Practical room response controls are standard on each G Series loudspeaker, enabling them to be adjusted for optimum performance in any environment. The smooth curves of the Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE™) Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW™) are not designed for good looks alone – they are essential elements in the acoustic design of the G Series loudspeakers.

F Series

Designed by Genelecʼs R&D team the F Series subwoofers feature an unobtrusive, modern appearance. The different connectivity options provide a convenient connection to portable audio players, computers or home cinema systems through their line level outputs.

  • Genelec Power Management Technology is an automatic signal sensing function that switches the loudspeaker to a power saving stand-by mode if no signal is present in the audio input for approximately one hour. The stand-by power consumption is less than 0,5W. The loudspeaker resumes playback automatically when it detects an audio signal being fed into any of the input connectors. This feature will potentially save a lot of energy for the owner and also money.
