Marantz CD5004 and PM5004

Marantz has launched its CD5004 compact disc player and PM5004 stereo amplifier, the budget hi-fi separates it first announced earlier this year.

The CD5004 features all-metal casework with an anodised aluminium front panel, available in either black or silver/gold finishes. It has a Cirrus Logic CS4392 DAC at its heart, working alongside Marantz’s own HDAM-SA2 modules (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Modules) which operate as a buffer amplifier and low pass filter, and other high-grade components such as gold-plated connectors.

There are also coaxial and optical digital audio outputs. plus a headphone socket and Audio EX mode, which switches off any extraneous functions such as the digital output, pitch control and display.

The PM5004 integrated stereo amplifier offers 55 watts per channel, plus five line inputs, a moving magnet phono stage for connecting to a turntable, two sets of speaker sockets and a headphone connection.

The Marantz CD5004 CD player and PM5004 stereo amplifier are on sale now for £220 and £250 respectively.
