Describing its new baby as “a sophisticated AV control centre” with 3D video capability, Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and Parametric EQ, Rotel promises it will deliver “audiophile sound quality” in both multichannel and stereo modes.

Equipped with dual 32-bit DSPs and 24-bit/192k audio DACs, it offers surround decoding and processing for Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD Master Audio high-definition sound.

Video signals are processed by the latest generation Faroudja Torina FLI30336 Cortez platform, which Rotel says reduces potential video noise. There’s also Faroudja RealColor colour management and an integrated 3D video decoder.

It also has HDMI 1.4 with 3D capability, plus six HDMI inputs, two HDMI outputs (one including Audio Return Channel) and a USB input mounted on the front for connecting iPod, iPhone or iPad.

It comes with its own wireless Bluetooth dongle as standard, allowing you to stream content from your portable device directly to the processor and it can send composite video and analogue audio to up to three zones.

The Rotel RSP-1572 is available now for £1,695.
