May 17, 2011 — Article

British hi-fi manufacturer Audiolab will be showing off its latest range of stereo compoenents at this week’s Munich High End Show.

Audiolab 8200CDQ

Designed by John Westlake, the 8200CDQ is a CD player with built-in preamp, optical, coaxial and USB digital inputs plus three line-level analogue inputs, providing source selection and volume control in the analogue domain.

It has a Sabre 32-bit audio DAC, built-in Class A headphone amp, Class A gain structures throughout and the choice of preamplification in the analogue or digital domain. There’s also a version without the preamp, the 8200CD.

Also coming is the 8200MB, a single-channel power amplifier with a rating of 250 watts and designed “to deliver high power with ultra-low distortion”.

It features a choice of both balanced XLR and single-ended RCA inputs and Audiolab claims its high current ability enables it to drive the toughest of loads without the loss of dynamics.

The Audiolab 8200CDQ and 8200MB are both available now for £950 each.
