Sony has announced details of its upcoming 2012 TV range, including the new top-of-the-range HX and midrange EX models.

Among the highlights are a new floating design, tough Gorilla glass, 3D compatibility, quicker refresh rates and better video processing, especially for 3D.

Sony TDG-BR750

Sony also announced some new active 3D glasses. The TDG-BR750s are lightweight, made of titanium, and cost £100, though two pairs come free with the HX screens.

Sony has also announced a range of new midrange and budget home cinema systems, many of them with enhanced auto-calibration, wireless rear speakers and smartphone control apps.

Sony’s new N-Series of systems also include the company’s new Magnetic Fluid speakers, which Sony claims are more energy efficient.
