The new model updates its predecessor, the HD67, by including the technology which is a combination of Graphics Processor Units (GPU), specialised 3D glasses and software that transforms hundreds of PC games to full stereoscopic 3D for immersive gaming on the big screen.

The HD67N is also compatible with the Optoma 3D-XL (available from January 2011), a 3D projector adapter that adapts existing DLP 3D capable projectors so they can display 3D broadcast signals such as Sky 3D, 3D Blu-ray players and 3D games from the PS3.

It combines 2000 ANSI Lumens with 400:1 ANSI Contrast ratio/4000:1 Peak Contrast Ratio and it can accept HD sources at 24 FPS (frames per second) so preserving the image as the director intended.

Justin Halls, Head of Product Management at Optoma Europe, said: “NVIDIA 3D Vision technology is the icing on the cake for this already impressive home entertainment projector. Awesome gaming credentials, 3D stereoscopic PC gaming, 120Hz 2D PC gaming for serious frame rate performance and support for the coming 3D-XL 3D Projector Adaptor enabling 3D gaming with the PS3 and Xbox make this the gaming projector of choice.”

Optoma is confident enough to supply with a warranty that image and colour quality will remain as new for at least five years.

The Optoma HD67N projector is available now for £600.
